Valedictorian of her Harrison High School class, Amanda Elmore was also quite the athlete. In 2009, her senior year in high school, she was named Female Athlete of the Year, competing in gymnastics, track and cross-country. It wasn’t until she arrived at Purdue University – where both of her brothers rowed – that she picked up the sport. In 2011, the four-time U.S. Rowing national team member won the varsity eight at the ACRA Championships and the Dad Vail Championships. Elmore has also had much success internationally; she won gold in the women’s quadruple sculls at the 2015 World Championships and in the women’s eight at the 2016 World Rowing Cup II.
