In the world of women's halfpipe, Kelly Clark has reached legendary status.

As an 18-year-old, she made her Olympic debut at the 2002 Salt Lake City Games. Although she was the youngest rider in the field, Clark walked away with the gold medal. Since then, Clark has made three more Olympic appearances (2006, 2010, 2014) prior to the PyeongChang Games, earning bronze at the latter two. Her latest medal in Sochi made her the most decorated Olympic snowboarder ever.

While that second Olympic gold medal has been elusive, it has not diminished Clark's standing as a dominant force in women's halfpipe. Over her career, she has collected seven X Games gold medals, eight Burton U.S. Open halfpipe titles, four Dew Tour championships and countless other contest wins.

The Vermont native has also been at the forefront of progression for her sport. In 2011, she made history by becoming the first woman to land a 1080 in a halfpipe competition. That trick became a regular staple in Clark's runs from thereon out, and the rest of the field was left playing catchup. In the years that followed, Clark rarely lost a contest, much less finished off the podium.

Now Clark, who has been known to sing out loud before her runs, is one of the oldest riders on the women's halfpipe circuit and has seen massive progression from her peers shake things up. Yet, despite fierce competition from riders nearly half her age, she still remains one of the sport's top athletes and a persistent medal threat.

Several years ago, Clark established her own charitable organization, the aptly-named Kelly Clark Foundation, as a way to give back to the snowboarding community. The foundation provides scholarships and financial support to promising young snowboarders in order to help them reach their potential as athletes.
