Kim Boutin is an up-and-coming Canadian short track skater who made her senior international debut the season following the 2014 Sochi Olympics. At her first world championships in 2015, Boutin showed her future potential by finishing seventh overall. She had a breakout year in 2017 when she won her first World Cup gold in the 1500m in Dresden, Germany. She followed up that achievement by claiming medals in all four individual events at the 2017 Canadian Championships: gold medals in the 3000m and 1000m, silver in the 1500m and bronze in the 500m.
