Q: What do I need to watch video on NBCOlympics.com?
A: You must install the latest version of Adobe® Flash® (supports v10 and above) in order to watch any video on NBCOlympics.com. Adobe® Flash® will provide you with the best Olympic viewing experience including HD quality video, DVR controls and much more.
Q: What are the minimum web browser and/or hardware requirements for viewing video on NBCOlympics.com?
A: Minimum Browser Compatibility:
- Internet Explorer 7 and up
- Firefox 3.5 and up
- Safari 4 and up
- Chrome 8 and up
- Opera 10 and up

Q: Is video on NBCOlympics available in HD??
A: Yes, this online content is available in HD.
Q: Can we watch video on NBCOlympics.com outside of the United States?
A: Due to Olympic broadcasting regulations, NBC is only allowed to show Olympic content on the internet for the United States & U.S. Territories. Users outside of those locations will still have access to an extensive set of non-event video content on NBCOlympics.com.
Q: Is it possible to watch the video in full screen?
A: Yes, you can click on the 'full screen' button that is located on the lower right corner of the video player control bar.
Q: My video won't start. All I see is a spinner or black screen, or an error message.
A: Try the following steps:
- Refresh your browser
- Upgrade your browser. Older Browsers might function, but may not be offering you the premium in in speed and security.
- If you'd like the best viewing experience, we recommend that you upgrade to the most recent version of your browser. You can select from the following supported browsers:
- Update Flash. Our video content is streamed through Adobe® Flash® player. We suggest you install the latest version of the Flash player.
- Before installing Adobe® Flash®, you will need to first uninstall any older versions you currently have running on your computer. To do so, download Adobe's official uninstaller. Make sure to select your correct operating system, and then "Uninstall Flash."
- Now that you've uninstalled the older version of Adobe® Flash®, follow Adobe's instructions for reinstalling the most recent version. The download option is on the right-hand side of the page.
- Once you've downloaded the file, please exit your browser first, and then install the upgraded version of Adobe® Flash® to your computer.
- Finally, open your browser again and return to the video you wish to view. You should now be able so successfully watch videos.
Q: The video stops playing completely.
A: Try the following steps:
- Refresh your browser.
- Clear your browser’s cache and cookies. If the browser you're using or a page you're viewing is displaying problems, try to clear the browser's cache. If that doesn't fix the problem, try to clear the browser's cookies.
Q: I cannot hear any audio.
A: Try the following steps:
- Refresh your browser.
- If refreshing didn’t help, try the following:
- Adjust the volume control on your computer and speakers.
- Adjust the volume control located in the lower left corner of the Player.
- Restart your internet browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, etc.)
- Ensure that the volume is turned up on other video players, such as Quicktime, Real Player, or Windows Media player, as this might affect the video player sound.
- If you still have no sound when playing the video, you may want to try the steps below (in order):
- Install the latest version of Adobe® Flash® after removing any old versions you have installed.
- Allow third-party Adobe® Flash® content on your computer:
- Visit the Adobe® Flash® Global Storage Settings Panel.
- The Adobe® Flash® Player Settings Manager should display.
- Check the box labeled: "Allow third-party Adobe® Flash® content to store data on your computer."
- To ensure the check sticks please click one of the tabs at the top of that box and then click back to the (Global Storage Settings Panel). The box should still be checked.
- Once this is complete, close all browser windows and try re-playing the Live Event.
- Check your Antivirus and Firewall software to see if you're blocking third party Adobe® Flash® content.
Q: My video is choppy or it keeps buffering.
A: Try the following steps:
- Refresh your browser
- Try adjusting the video resolution. Lowering the resolution will help with buffering speed and raising the resolution will make the picture and sound clearer.
- Quit your browser application entirely (Ctrl+Q in Microsoft Windows or Command+Q in Mac OS), quit all other unnecessary applications running on your computer, then restart your browser. Avoid using multiple tabs.
- If using wireless internet (WiFi), connect directly to your modem or router with an Ethernet cable.
Video: Live Streaming
Q: What is “Live Streaming” video content?
A: NBCOlympics.com and its mobile/tablet applications will be the exclusive sources in the U.S. for LIVE video coverage of competition at the London Games. More details coming soon.
Q: When is this Live Streaming content going to be available?
A: Live Coverage of Olympic Trials events to begin in June.
Live Olympic coverage and full event replays will be available starting July 25th, 2012.
Q: What is Adobe® Flash®?
A: Adobe® Flash® Player is a cross-platform, browser plug-in that provides uncompromised viewing of applications, content, and videos across browsers and operating systems, such as the content you will view on nbcolympics.com. You can learn more about Adobe® Flash® at www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer.html.
Q: I have an older version of Flash installed on my machine. Do I need to upgrade?
A: Yes. The NBC Olympics video player uses new features only available in Adobe® Flash® Player 11. Adobe® Flash® is a small download and installs quickly. Adobe® Flash® Player 11 is backwards-compatible with previous versions of the Flash player.
Q: Why do I need to restart my browser after installing Adobe® Flash®?
A: Some users will be prompted to restart their browsers if they are upgrading from a previous version of Adobe® Flash®. In most cases, users will not have to restart their web browsers after installing Adobe® Flash® Player 11.
Q: How do I uninstall Adobe® Flash®?

Q: I have run the Adobe® Flash® installation program several times but the website is asking me to install again.
A: Some users will not be able to upgrade Adobe® Flash® due to their OS settings. If you are seeing this issue then you should follow these steps:
- Uninstall Adobe® Flash® as described by this Adobe® Flash® support page: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html
- Restart your computer
- Visit http://www.nbcolympics.com/video/index.html
- Click on any of the videos
- When prompted, install Adobe® Flash® again
- When installation is complete, restart your browser
- Return to http://www.nbcolympics.com/video/index.html
Q: I am experiencing issues playing video, does it matter that I have blocked 3rd party cookies?
A: Yes, you will need to unblock 3rd party cookies, in order to view video. In current versions of Firefox, for instance, follow these steps:
- In the Firefox menu bar, go to Tools > Options
- In the Options screen, select Privacy
- Make sure that both "Accept cookies from sites" and "Accept third-party cookies" are checked.
- In the "Keep until:" dropdown, select either "they expire" or "I close Firefox"
- Click OK to close the Options screen.
- Force-reload the page by doing Shift-Reload (Hold down the Shift key on the keyboard, while clicking the Reload button in the browser's button bar.)
- The videos should now play successfully
Q: I get a "Video not loading" error that doesn't go away, what do I do?
- Check you 3rd party cookies. You need them enabled (in Firefox, Chrome and Safari you set it directly, in IE you need to set a privacy level of "Medium High" or lower)
- Check to see if you have an anti-virus, anti-malware or other proxy software (such as Net Nanny) running on your machine or corporate/campus network that may be blocking (or impacting) access to the streams
Q: What does the registration process involve? Is it time consuming?
A: It’s a quick and simple one-time process. At NBCOlympics.com, select your cable, satellite or iTV provider from a dropdown list. You will then be required to login as you would to manage your home cable, satellite or iTV provider account, access email, etc.
Q: How will I know if I am registered?
A: After successfully validating your subscription to your cable, satellite or iTV provider, a confirmation will appear on screen.
Q: Do I need to pay to access this online coverage? Is there a fee?
A: It is free with a cable/telo/satellite subscription that includes CNBC and MSNBC.
Q: If I don’t register, will I be able to view any online Olympics coverage on NBCOlympics.com?
A: Yes. You will still be able to view exclusive Highlights, Recaps, Interviews, News, Results, Features Athlete Bios, Photo Galleries and other content at NBCOlympics.com. You just won’t be able to view live and full event replay video.
Q: Can I access this live and full event replay coverage online somewhere else other than NBCOlympics.com without registering?
A: This online coverage is exclusive to NBCOlympics.com and isn’t available on another Web site.
Q: Will I be able to watch any video?
A: Absolutely: You will still have access to hundreds of hours of Olympic highlights, athlete interviews and feature stories--plus by entering your ZIP code, you will get up-to-the-minute TV listings for your home market.

Q: How do I get local Olympic TV listings?
A: Visit the TV Listing section by clicking "TV Listings" in the primary navigation. You will be prompted to enter your ZIP code and select your television service provider. By doing so, you get two major benefits: You will get up-to-the-minute TV listings for your home market and you will gain free access to the Olympic Zone, a section dedicated to following the athletes and news from your local city or town.
Q: How do I sign up for NBCOlympics.com alerts?
A: There are two ways to sign-up for alerts on NBCOlympics.com. 1) Visit http://www.nbcolympics.com/alerts/index.htmx and select the alert categories you want to receive. 2) Look for the 'ALERT ME' link throughout the site to get one-time event or schedules alerts.
Q: How do I unsubscribe from NBCOlympics.com alerts?
A: To unsubscribe from e-mail and/or mobile alerts, visit http://www.nbcolympics.com/alerts/unsubscribe.htmx.

Q: Can I view the NBC Olympics website on my mobile device?
A: Yes, if your mobile device is web-enabled, a mobile optimized website is available by entering www.nbcolympics.com into your device’s browser. You can also access the mobile website by entering m.nbcolympics.com, mobile.nbcolympics.com or wap.nbcolympics.com directly into your browser.
Q: Can I watch Olympic video content on my mobile device?
A: Yes, the mobile website has video on demand clips as well as other features from the website such as news, photos, results & schedules, TV and online listings, medal counts, hometown coverage and more.
Q: Is there an NBC Olympics Mobile or Tablet Application available?
A: Not yet, but there will be two applications available for download on your iPhone, iPod touch or Android handheld device and your iPad or Android tablet device in mid-June. Continue to check http://www.nbcolympics.com/news-blogs/2012/mobile-link.html for updates.
Q: Will I be able to watch live video coverage and full event replays on my mobile device or tablet?
A: Yes, there will be a live video application available for download in June that will have live coverage and full event replays. Access to some live streams and full event replays is determined by your cable, satellite, or iTV provider.
Q: What will be the minimum and optimal operating system requirements for using the Mobile and Tablet Applications?
A: The NBC Olympics Mobile and Tablet Applications will support iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad devices running on iOS 4.3 and above, and select Android handheld and tablet devices running on an operating system of 2.2 and above. To receive the best user experience, ensure that your device has the most recent operating system.
Q: Will there be a cost to download the NBC Olympics Mobile and Tablet Applications?
A: No, all the mobile and tablet offerings for NBC Olympics will be free.
Q: Will I be able to sign up for SMS alerts?
A: There will be no SMS alerts, but you can sign up for e-mail alerts on the website (http://www.nbcolympics.com/alerts/index.htmx), as well as push notifications in the mobile applications to notify you of breaking news, event start times, results, and more.
