Cross country skier Kikkan Randall, a 9-time US National Champion, was born in Salt Lake City and made her Olympic debut there in the 2002 Winter Games. Randall became the first U.S. woman to ever win a World Championship medal in 2009. Her mom’s brother Chris Haines was a 1976 cross country skier and her aunt Betsy Haines was the first racer on-course in the 1980 5K.
