Before the Olympics, Sotnikova's personal best combined score was just over the 200-point mark, from her second place finish at the 2014 European nationals. In Sochi, she posted a 224.59. “I smashed my season's best. In fact, I smashed my highest score for my whole career and I did it at the Olympics. I didn't think I could skate like I did today.”
