Rachael Flatt is the 2008 world junior figure skating champion and the 2008 and 2009 U.S. ladies silver medalist. As Flatt remembers, she first got the skating bug at just four years old while watching the La Jolla Figure Skating Club at UTC the shopping mall. Soon after, she bugged her parents to sign her up for lessons. The 17-year old lists Del Mar, Calif. as her hometown but trains and goes to high school in Colorado. She hopes to attend Stanford to study sports medicine and biomechanics.
