Mirai Nagasu was born in Montebello, Calif., but has made her home in the Northern California city of Arcadia. She began skating at the age of five, because it was raining to hard for her to golf one day, and she has loved the ice ever since.
Mirai's idol is none other than 1992 Olympic Champion Kristi Yamaguchi.
Only 16-years-old, Mirai already holds the title of the 2008 U.S. Champion, 2007 Jr. Champion, as well as being a two-time World Jr. medalist.
