Sarah Burke, the freeskiing pioneer who died after a training fall in January 2012, will be among the Canadians celebrated on postage stamps this February in recognition of the Sochi Olympics.
Others on stamps will include Sandra Schmirler, Canada’s 1998 Olympics gold medalist curling skip who died of cancer in 2000, and 1948 Olympic champion figure skater Barbara Ann Scott.
Singers Shania Twain and K.D. Lang are also set to be honored, according to the Canadian Press.
Burke was a four-time Winter X Games gold medalists and one of the stars of ski halfpipe, a sport making its Olympic debut next year.
She died nine days after crashing on the same Park City, Utah, halfpipe where U.S. snowboarder Kevin Pearce suffered a traumatic brain injury on New Year’s Eve 2009.
