HERE ARE THE LINKS for the eBay auctions for the two Team UsA Paralympics sweaters ($100 minimum bid):
BEND, Ore. - NewsChannel 21 is pleased to announce a “Gold Medal” partnership with the Oregon Adaptive Sports program!
As part of its “Olympic Zone” coverage, NewsChannel 21’s anchors, Matt McDonald and Alicia Inns, have been modeling the same sweaters worn by America’s Winter Olympians in Sochi, Russia.
These Ralph Lauren Polo sweaters are special to Central Oregon, as their wool comes from the Imperial Stock Ranch in Shaniko.
Already the sweaters have generated excitement around the U.S., and their limited supply has created a premium value for them.
Artwork on the sweaters on our “Olympic Zone” depicts the international “Paralympics” logo.
“Since the sweaters are for the upcoming Paralympics Winter Games in Sochi, we decided it was a perfect opportunity to help the Oregon Adaptive Sports folks, and we thought we’d auction them off, with 100% of the proceeds going to OAS,” noted KTVZ News Director Lee Anderson.
The sweaters can be seen each night during the Olympic Winter Games on KTVZ’s “Olympic Zone” show at 7:30 p.m.
The Olympics Zone website is the starting point for the bidding. Each sweater will be auctioned off separately. The bidding started on Thursday, February 20 at 9 a.m. and runs for seven days, until February 27.
“They’re beautiful sweaters -- keepsakes really, and this auction is a wonderful way to help a wonderful organization,” said Anderson.
“OAS is absolutely thrilled to be a member of the "Gold Medal" partnership with KTVZ. We are a community-based organization, and we exist because of the amazing support of Oregonians,” said OAS Executive Director Suzanne Lafky. “Thank You KTVZ!”
We will have the links to the eBay auction sites for the two sweaters here at the Olympic Zone, starting Thursday morning.
