Born in Illinois, Courtney Zablocki has spent most of her life in Colorado. She attended high school in Highlands Ranch, where she makes her home to this day. As a child, Zablocki and her brothers used to slide down the stairs in laundry baskets, paving the way for her career in the luge. The two-time Olympian placed a USA Luge-best fourth place at the Torino Games. It was an improvement over her 13th place finish at the Salt Lake City Games. After the 2006 Games, Zablocki joined the Colorado National Guard, and she was inducted into the Colorado Sports Women Hall of Fame the same year.
