Chad Hedrick was born in Spring and got his start as an inline skater. He revolutionized inline speed skating with his unique technique called the double push or DP. Hedrick switched from inline skating to speed skating in 2002 after watching Derek Parra medal in Salt Lake City. Hedrick took three medals during the Winter Olympics in Torino.
