Jordan Malone was born in Denton and got his start as an inline skater. He is a 14-time world champion and 19-time national champion in inline skating, but because he wanted Olympic gold he switched to speed skating in 2003. The short track speed skater currently lives and trains in Salt Lake City. Malone competed in the U.S. Olympic Trials four years ago on a broken ankle and just missed qualifying for the 2006 U.S. team.
