Cortina, site of the 1956 Winter Olympics, is hosting World Cup women's races this weekend with a downhill on Saturday and super-G on Sunday.
Racers will now get to remain in Italy and contest a similar schedule the following weekend. There will be downhill training runs on Jan. 23 and Jan. 24 with the downhill slated for Jan. 25 and super-G Jan. 26.
The rescheduled downhill and super-G races will be the final speed events before Sochi Olympic team selections are finalized.
Organizers say the men's races slated for one week later in Garmisch remain unaffected, as local officials hope for snowfall before then.
