First look inside the Olympic BMX Centre

Take an early look at the venue for Olympic BMX racing

The Olympic BMX Centre in Deodoro Olympic Park will be the site for all BMX competitions. The track runs between 350m and 400m long and it’s filled with berms, doubles and rollers that will keep the riders on their toes. It may sound treacherous, but before the races actually begin, it looks pretty tranquil.

Tory Nyhaug, who will be looking to bring the gold home to Canada, gave his Instagram followers an inside look at what it’s like to take on the track during a practice run.

2012 gold medalists Māris Štrombergs and Mariana Pajón are looking to defend their titles. The seeding runs for both the men and the women begin Wednesday.
