Meet Team USA: Weightlifting
In January, Georgia's Jenny Arthur (75kg/165 lbs) became the first American weightlifter to qualify for the 2016 Rio Olympics.
By finishing third at the 2016 Pan American Championships in Colombia, the United States earned a single weightlifting quota spot for an American male. The placement went to two-time Olympian Kendrick Farris, who finished first in the competition's 94kg (207 lbs) division.
A total of 260 athletes from around the globe will participate in the 2016 Rio Olympics' weightlifting competition. A country's National Olympic Committee can have a maximum of 6 men and 4 women compete in Rio, with up to 2 athletes per event.
