The swimmers of Team USA claimed 33 medals at the 2016 Rio Olympics, matching their highest-ever total since the 2000 Sydney Games. So many great moments contributed to this total, including Michael Phelps’ fourth consecutive 200m IM gold medal, Phelps winning back his 200m butterfly crown, Katie Ledecky’s stunning sweep of the 200m, 400m and 800m freestyles, Maya DiRado’s seemingly impossible gold in the 200m backstroke and Simone Manuel’s historic gold in the 100m freestyle.
