Aleksandr Zubkov, Russia
Having been in first place after the first two runs, Zubkov broke his own Sochi track record with a time of 56.08 seconds. He would enter the final run with a 0.50 lead.
Beat Hefti. Switzerland
Hefti's third run -- 56.26 -- was the fastest of his four runs. The Swiss remained in second place after the third heat.
Steven Holcomb, United States
Steven Holcomb stayed in third place after the third heat, trailing Hefti by 0.19 seconds.
Justin Kripps, Canada
Not expected to be a medal favorite, Kripps piloted CAN-3 to a fourth place position ahead of the final run.
Aleksandr Kasyanov, Russia
RUS-2 driver Kasyanov was tied for fifth place after the third run.
