Basics

16 men's teams and 12 women's teams have qualified for the Olympic soccer tournament.  Both tournaments' roster limits are set at 18, with two alternates.

In the men's tournament, only three players over the age of 23 (born before 1985) are permitted per team.

The women's rosters consist largely of senior national team players.
