Meet the Teams

This month, 216 American athletes will venture north of the border to represent the United States at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.

Alpine Skiing - Men
Three-time Olympian Bode Miller and defending Olympic combined champ Ted Ligety lead the men to the Olympic venue at Whistler Creekside.
Alpine Skiing - Women
2006 gold medalist Julia Mancuso and two-time defending World Cup champion Lindsey Vonn lead the U.S. women's Alpine team to Vancouver.
Biathlon
Nine biathletes (five men and four women) make up a U.S. team trying to win a medal at the Olympics for the first time.
Bobsled
The U.S. Olympic bobsled team was finalized after the completion of seventh World Cup race of the 2009-10 season. Athletes qualified based on the results of international races through that date.
Cross-Country
Between the sprint and distance races, and the relays, the U.S. cross-country team has every base covered. Eleven U.S. athletes - six men and five women - have been nominated to the team that will compete at the 2010 Vancouver Games.
Curling - Men
By virtue of winning the 2010 Olympic Trials, John Shuster's rink will represent Team USA in Vancouver.
Curling - Women
Debbie McCormick's rink will represent the U.S. in Vancouver.
Figure Skating
The skaters who comprise Team USA were selected based on their results at the U.S. Championships as well as their performances over the season.
Freestyle Skiing - Men
Seventh in Torino, aerialist Jeret "Speedy" Peterson is one of 10 American men competing in freestyle skiing at the Vancouver Games.
Freestyle Skiing - Women
2002 Olympic moguls silver medalist Shannon Bahrke is eyeing her third Olympic appearance in Vancouver.
Hockey - Men
The 2010 U.S. men's Olympic ice hockey team was selected by USA Hockey officials.
Hockey - Women
The U.S. women's Olympic ice hockey team was selected by USA Hockey officials on Dec. 17.
Luge
The U.S. Olympic team was finalized upon the completion of the fall 2009-10 World Cup season. The roster was officially announced Dec. 18.
Nordic Combined
There are several viable Olympic candidates in the deep and experienced U.S. Nordic combined team.
Short Track
Five men and five women earned spots on the U.S. Olympic short track team at Olympic Trials, held Sept. 9-13 in Marquette, Mich.
Skeleton
The U.S. Olympic skeleton team was finalized after the completion of seventh World Cup race of the 2009-10 season. Athletes earned berths based on the results of international races through Jan. 17.
Ski Jumping
In Torino, Anders Johnson - then 16 years old - became the youngest U.S. Olympic ski jumper in history. The Park City native makes his second Olympic appearance in Vancouver.
Snowboarding - Men
Reigning Olympic halfpipe champion Shaun White headlines the 10-deep U.S. men's snowboarding team in Vancouver.
Snowboarding - Women
Halfpipe stars Hannah Teter, Kelly Clark and Gretchen Bleiler are among the top American women to watch at the Vancouver Games.
Speed Skating - Men
Nine men qualified for the U.S. Olympic speed skating team.
Speed Skating - Women
Nine women qualified for the U.S. Olympic speed skating team.
