
He's graceful on the slopes and now he's working to be graceful on the dance floor.
Columbus-native Louie Vito, 21, is preparing to compete in the 2010 Winter Olympics in snowboarding. At the same time, he is competing on season nine of ABC's Dancing With The Stars.
Vito has made it through week four of competition, dancing with Chelsie Hightower, who partnered with rodeo cowboy Ty Murray during season eight.
Vito was born in Columbus and learned to snowboard at Mad River Mountain near Bellefontaine.
According to his website, Vito's parents enrolled him at Stratton Mountain School, a snowboard school in Vermont, where he attended high school.
After graduating high school, Vito moved to Salt Lake City and became a professional snowboarder in 2006.
He has competed in multiple Winter X-Games and has won several titles, including the 2008-2009 U.S. Grand Prix overall championship.
