Meryl Davis and Charlie White, Figure Skating
Ice dancing partners Meryl Davis and Charlie White are both lifelong Michigan residents and current University of Michigan students. Davis was born in West Bloomfield and White was born mere miles away in Bloomfield Hills. The duo took home a silver medal in ice dancing at the 2010 Games and head into Sochi as the gold medal favorites.

Jessica Smith, Short Track Speed Skating
Short track speed skater Jessica Smith spent much of her childhood at roller rinks near Melvindale -- wearing inline skates, not ice skates. Smith decided to switch to speed skating to pursue her goal of competing in the Olympics, and hopes the 2014 Sochi Games will be a dream come true.

Nick Baumgartner, Snowboarding
Snowboarder Nick Baumgartner hails from the Upper Penninsula and took advantage of the nearly endless winters by snowboarding almost daily. Baumgartner competed in the snowboard cross event in Vancouver but did not medal -- something he hopes to change at the 2014 Winter Olympics.

Though born in Canada and a dual citizen, Cam Fowler moved to Farmington Hills at the age of two and plays on Team USA. Now a defenseman for the Anaheim Ducks, Fowler will make his Olympic debut in Sochi.

This ice dancing pair live and train in Novi. Bates was born in Ann Arbor and is a graduate of the University of Michigan, while Chock moved to Michigan from California as a teenager.
