Catherine Raney-Norman, an Elm Grove, Wisconsin native, has participated in every Winter Olympics since 1998. Her best showing was in Torino, where she placed 5th in the Team Pursuit, and 7th in the 5000m. Raney-Norman is not considered an Olympic medal threat in Vancouver, but could be a strong member of the Team Pursuit squad. While attending high school at Brookfield Academy she played softball, field hockey and ran track, in addition to speedskating. Raney-Norman currently lives on top of a mountain and can only access her home via snowmobile or snowcat.
