Henrik Lundqvist is a goaltender for the New York Rangers but is originally from Are, Sweden. It's a region well known for alpine skiing, but he chose to play ice hockey instead. He played for the Swedish team in the 2006 Winter Olympics, helping the team win gold. The NHL All-Star made his debut with the Rangers in the 2005-2006 season. In 2008, he signed a six-year contract worth $41.25 million.
