NewsChannel 13 has an update on the condition of Capital Region native, Jackie Hernandez.
The Olympic snowboarder took a hard fall during qualifications on Sunday.
The 21 year old was born in troy and lived in Glenmont.
She's a first-time Olympian.
Hernandez lost control off a jump and fell backward on her head.
She lost consciousness and had to be taken off the mountain in a sled.
Morning show anchor Phil Bayly reached out to Hernandez after the crash.
She wrote back on Monday and said “I’m okay. Super bummed I couldn't finish the race but happy I’m up and walking around. I'm pretty sore though.”
