Washington knows how good Ovie is. The Moscow native was the first overall draft pick in 2004. In his debut season with the Capitals, he scored 65 goals and won the NHL MVP award. His success continued in his second year with another MVP award. Now it's time for the rest of the world to see him in action. Ovechkin will lead Team Russia's quest for another ice hockey gold medal.
In addition to preparing for the 2010 Games, the two-time MVP has also been named one of the ambassadors for the 2014 Games to be held in Sochi, Russia.
