Since University of Wisconsin (and current Olympic) coach Mark Johnson discovered her while playing shortstop against his son's little league baseball team, Vetter has earned Patty Kazmaier honors as the top women's hockey player, won three national championships at UW and recently became the first ice hockey player to be named Sportswoman of the Year at the Women's Sports Foundation Sports Dinner.
