Allison Pottinger played sofball at UW-Oshkosh, but in her family it's all about curling. Her father, mother, brother and sister are all avid curlers. Allison learned to curl in sixth grade. Part of eight U.S. national championship teams, Pottinger will serve as Vice Skip in Vancouver.

In 2003, she was a member of the first women's team to win a gold medal at the world level as vice skip of Debbie McCormick's team by defeating Colleen Jones' rink from Canada at the 2003 World Curling Championships in Winnipeg, Canada.

The Canadien native enjoys running, kayaking and rock climbing, but hopes her effectiveness with a stone will earn her a medal in her native country.
