Jinelle Zaugg-Siergiej was comtemplating life without hockey, but a funny thing happened. USA women's hockey coach Mark Johnson - her former coach and the University of Wisconsin - told her she made the U.S. National Team and is in position for a berth on the Olympic Team. Zaugg-Siergiej will put aside a possible career in teaching for at least a few more months.

The Eagle River, Wisconsin native played at the University of Wisconsin for four years, finishing her career as UW's career leader in goals (89), power-play goals (29), game-winning goals (22) and games played (160), while winning a pair of national championships.

She also has a flair for drama. As a junior, she scored the quadruple-overtime game-winner in the NCAA quarterfinal game versus Harvard to send the Badgers to the NCAA Women's Frozen Four. As a Sophomore (2005-06) she scored two of her team's three goals, including the game-winner, in the national championship win over Minnesota. After graduating from Wisconsin, she helped the Minnesota Whitecaps to the Western Women's Hockey League championship in 2008-09.
