Brooke Shaw is one of the young gems in the world of snowboarding. After sitting last season out due to an injury, she hopes to make her mark this year and qualify for the 2010 Olympics. She hit the powder at the age of three, but made her snowboarding debut when she was six years old; Stratton Mountain was her second home. Shaw defines the term "all-around rider," but she focuses primarily on boardercross. In March 2007, she competed in her first ever World Cup, where she placed eighth in Lake Placid, NY. Snowboarding has given Shaw the opportunity to travel all over the world, and because of her hectic schedule, she is currently homeschooled. So what does this teeanage star do on her down time? She loves playing soccer, four wheeling, wakeboarding and surfing.
