After a day off, U.S. Nordic stars Oksana Masters and Kendall Gretsch are back in action. So far the duo has combined to win three medals at these Paralympics — Masters has biathlon gold and cross-country silver, Gretsch has biathlon bronze — and could add to that total on Day 4.

This day of competition will feature the middle-distance biathlon events for men and women in all three classifications (sitting, standing, visually impaired). Gretsch won the women's sitting event at the world championships in January, while Masters finished third. Their biggest competition at the Paralympics is likely to come from China, which has taken the field by surprise throughout the Nordic events so far.

The men's sitting event will include Americans Dan Cnossen and Aaron Pike. Cnossen, who finished fourth in the biathlon sprint a few days ago, earned silver in the middle-distance race four years ago.

It could also be another big day for Ukrainian athletes. During the first day of biathlon competition, they were among the standout performers as Ukraine swept the podium in the men's visually impaired sprint and won seven medals overall. At the recent world championships, Ukraine was particularly successful in the women's standing events, sweeping the podium for all three distances.

China vs USA 6:35 a.m. NBCOlympics.com, Olympic Channel

Thanks to a dramatic comeback win over Norway, the United States is 2-3 and still in contention for a wheelchair curling medal. With round-robin play now halfway over, the U.S. sits tied for eighth place out of 11 teams but is currently just one game out of a top-four spot. That's where they'll need to finish in order to reach the knockout rounds.

Up next is a matchup with China, the defending Paralympic gold medalists and reigning world champions. China is currently tied for third place with a 3-2 record, having only lost to the top two teams in the table: Canada and Sweden.

The preliminary round of the sled hockey tournament will come to an end with the final three games.

The big matchup will be in Group A between Canada and South Korea. Because both teams lost to the United States in their respective openers, this game will determine which team gets the No. 2 seed and an automatic bye to the semifinals alongside Team USA. The loser of this game won't be eliminated but will have to win a quarterfinal game against a Group B opponent before reaching the semis.

At the end of the day, one of the teams in Group B will be eliminated from the tournament entirely — either the Czech Republic, Italy or Slovakia. All three teams control their own destiny in that a win would guarantee their safety.
