When to watch archery during the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games
Archery events will take place between Thursday, August 29 and Thursday, September 5 in Paris.
Archery was one of the first sports included in the program at the inaugural Paralympic Games, held in Rome in 1960. It has been part of the competition program ever since.
Athletes with a variety of physical disabilities compete in this highly-competitive, elite competition. The Individual W1 competitions include the most severely impaired athletes, whereas the athletes who compete in the open events are typically the least impaired. Listed in the table below are details for W1 and Open competition classes as defined by World Archery.
W1 | Athletes usually have an impairment in both the top or bottom halves of their body, torso and at least three limbs. |
Open | Athletes usually have an impairment in either the top of bottom half or one side of their body. |
Venue
The esplanade de Invalides, which will host the archery competition during the 2024 Paris Olympics, will also be the home for Paralympic archers. The nearby Hôtel des Invalides is famous for its military history and as the final resting place for Napoleon Bonaparte.
