When to watch basketball during the 2024 Paris Olympics
Pending qualification, the U.S. men’s and women’s basketball teams will have the opportunity to extend their Olympic gold medal-winning streaks in Paris. The U.S. men would look to win their fifth consecutive gold, while the women would be knocking on the door of an eighth straight Olympic title.
The first chance for a nation to grab a spot at Paris 2024 comes at the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2022 (September 22-October 1) where the winner will claim the one available quota place. Men's teams can qualify starting in 2023 at FIBA Basketball World Cup (August 25-September 10) where seven quota places will be awarded.
Tip off for the preliminary rounds of basketball at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games is set for Saturday, July 27 and will conclude on Sunday, August 4.
The knockout phase begins on Tuesday, August 6 with the gold medal game for men set to be played on Saturday, August 10. The top two women’s teams in Paris will square off in their gold medal final on Sunday, August 11.
Venue
The Madison Square Garden of Paris, Bercy Arena, will host the knockout phase for mens’ and women’s basketball games during the 2024 Paris Paralympics.
