With all eyes on the upcoming Winter Games in Milan Cortina, Team USA partner Delta unveiled their ambassador team for the competition, highlighting Olympic and Paralympic athletes in their newest campaign.
Delta has been a consistent partner to Team USA, serving as the team’s official airline and sponsoring some of the biggest names across both summer and winter sports. This year, star figure skater and defending U.S. Champion, Amber Glenn, will be the campaign’s single returning athlete after joining the roster for the 2022 Beijing Games.
“We believe meaningful journeys begin with intention,” said Alicia Tillman, Delta’s Chief Marketing Officer. “These athletes exemplify what it means to lead with purpose and power, and our 100,000 employees are proud to stand beside them as they prepare to take on the world.”
Joining Glenn from the world of figure skating are two-time Olympic medalists and U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame siblings Maia and Alex Shibutani, who returned to competitive skating in time to push for the Milan Cortina Games. Elana Meyers Taylor (bobsled) and Lindsey Vonn (Alpine skiing) will join the campaign alongside three-time medalists Amy Purdy (para snowboarding), Declan Farmer (sled hockey) and Jessie Diggins (cross country skiing). Rounding out the team are gold medalists Andrew Kurka (para Alpine skiing), Dani Aravich (para track & field, para Nordic skiing, para biathlon), Justin Schoenfeld (freestyle skiing) and young snowboarding phenom Bea Kim.
For both Farmer and Schoenfeld, Delta’s sponsorship is the latest reaffirmation of a long-standing connection between the athletes and the airline; both Farmer and Schoenfeld’s mothers served as Delta fight attendants.
