And Livigno, a town in Italy's Valtellina region, will play an important role as it hosts all freestyle skiing and snowboarding events at the Winter Games.

Where will Olympic freestyle skiing take place at Milan Cortina 2026?

Livigno, which is in the Rhaetian Alps near the Swiss border, will host all freestyle skiing events, with each discipline having its own course. The town is several hours northeast of Milan and several hours west of Cortina.

Livigno Snow Park will be the site of ski cross and the three freeskiing disciplines (halfpipe, slopestyle, big air), while the aptly named Livigno Aerials & Moguls Park nearby will host aerials and moguls.

Construction on the Livigno Aerials & Moguls Park began in summer 2024 and was completed by the end of the year. It hosted a World Cup stop in March 2025 that also served as an official Olympic test event for both disciplines.

In addition to freeskiing and ski cross, Livigno Snow Park also will be the site of all the Olympic snowboarding events.

Has Livigno hosted major events before?

Although Livigno Snow Park is still under construction, it’s part of the Mottolino ski area, which previously has hosted events such as the Burton European Open and the FIS Junior World Championships.

The Livigno Aerials & Moguls Park hosted its first event, a FIS World Cup stop, in March 2025.

How far away is Livigno from the other Olympic venues?

Milan Cortina 2026 features clusters of venues spread across the northern part of Italy. The two venues in Livigno (Livigno Snow Park, Livigno Aerials & Moguls Park) are located near each other but are spaced out from other Olympic venues.

Livigno is about three and a half hours northeast of Milan and about five and a half hours west of Cortina. The closest venue is the Stelvio Ski Centre in Bormio, located about an hour southeast of Livigno, which will be the site of ski mountaineering and men’s Alpine skiing events.
