The 60-player fields for both the men's and women's golf tournaments will be determined in June 2024, based on the International Golf Federation (IFG) world ranking list. The top-15 players in both the men's and women's rankings will qualify automatically, with a maximum of four players from a single nation. The remaining spots will be awarded to the next-highest ranked players, with a maximum of two players from a single nation.

As of March 2024, the United States is projected to send the maximum of four male and four female players to the Paris Olympics.

All events on the PGA and LPGA tours, as well as all men's and women's major championships, factor into the IGF rankings. LIV Golf events do not.
