The Grand Prix of Figure Skating reaches its final stop, as the 2025 Finlandia Trophy gets underway in Helsinki. For American fans, this event offers one last look at several major U.S. contenders before the biggest event of the season so far: the Grand Prix Final.
The competition runs November 21–23 at the Helsinki Ice Hall, and with a deep international field across all four disciplines, it promises to shape the final standings of the 2025–26 Grand Prix campaign.
For the United States, all eyes are on Amber Glenn, who arrives in Finland riding some of the strongest momentum of her career. Glenn steadily has built herself into a leading U.S. contender this Olympic cycle, combining a strong arsenal of jumps — she is one of the few women capable of consistently landing a triple Axel in competition — with some of the most expressive skating in the field. Her new programs this season have been well-received, and after winning her first of two Grand Prix appearances, she comes to Helsinki with a real opportunity to test herself against several international medal threats.
Joining her in the women’s field is fellow American Bradie Tennell, a 2018 Olympian and one of the most seasoned competitors in the lineup. Despite a career with many ups and downs, Tennell long has been known for her technical discipline and competitive poise, and her appearance at Finlandia adds an important veteran presence. The two Americans will face a field that includes strong European and Asian contenders, making the women’s event one of the most unpredictable of the weekend.
In the men’s competition, Jason Brown leads the U.S. delegation with his trademark artistry and refined edge quality, attributes that continue to distinguish him internationally even in fields with heavier quad jump content. Brown has delivered several strong early-season outings and, after a 4th-place finish at Skate America, will look to add valuable Grand Prix points in Helsinki. Brown will face off against some of the strongest men in the field, led by Japan’s 2022 Olympic silver medalist Yuma Kagiyama. Perhaps one of the few competitive men who could give U.S. phenom Ilia Malinin a run for his money, Kagiyama handily won his first Grand Prix event of the season and also likely is the favorite for Finlandia.
Joining Brown at the final Grand Prix of the season is teammate Jimmy Ma, who has earned multiple top-10 finishes on the Challenger Series, including at Golden Spin and Nebelhorn Trophy.

The ice dance roster in Helsinki is set to be particularly exciting, with a head-to-head between the comeback-crowd: France’s Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Guillaume Cizeron, and the U.S.’s Maia and Alex Shibutani. Both teams are looking to reassert past glory, with the French team having won their first Grand Prix event (and first major event competing as a new partnership) and the Shibutani’s finishing 6th at NHK Trophy. They will be joined by veterans and two-time world silver medalists, Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier of Canada.
Up-and-coming American teams Emilea Zingas and Vadym Kolesnik, and Oona and Gage Brown also will be hoping to make a statement in Finland. Both teams will be eying a potential berth on the U.S. Olympic team in February, and while this event is not an Olympic qualifier, every result counts.
In the pairs event, Americans Ellie Kam and Danny O’Shea will look to build on their Skate Canada bronze medal. If they can top that result, they have a shot at a ticket to the Grand Prix Final.
Helsinki is seven hours ahead of Eastern Time, and events will stream live on Peacock.
