Seven-time Olympic gold medalist Caeleb Dressel returns to the U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials looking to confirm his place at the 2024 Paris Games. 

Dressel has been the biggest star in men's swimming since his masterful performance at the Tokyo Olympics, where he won three individual gold medals along with two relay golds. However, it's been a winding road for the 27-year-old Floridian from Tokyo to this year's Trials in Indianapolis.

During the 2022 World Swimming Championships, Dressel withdrew from the meet, then proceeded to take the next eight months away from competitive swimming to focus on his mental health. Since returning to action in 2023, Dressel has gradually worked to regain his top form in hopes of qualifying for a third career Olympic appearance.

The 2024 Trials will take place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Trials include nine days of competition (June 15-23), with all finals airing live on NBC in primetime and all competition streaming on Peacock, NBCOlympics.com, NBC.com and the NBC/NBC Sports apps.

Dressel is scheduled to swim three events at Trials: the 100m freestyle, 50m freestyle and 100m butterfly (the three individual events in which he is the defending Olympic champion).
