Team Peterson returns to the Games for its second straight Winter Olympics to represent the United States. The rink decimated the field at the U.S. Team Trials, posting a 7-1 record, and secured its Olympic berth at the Olympic Qualification Event (OQE) a month later. They claimed the last available spot.
For skip Tabitha Peterson and her younger sister Tara Peterson, Milan Cortina will be the third time (in a row) that they compete at an Olympic Games together. In Beijing 2022, they finished in 6th.
Since then, they added former Olympian Cory Thiesse, the only American curler set to participate in multiple Olympic tournaments (the women’s and mixed doubles), as well as Taylor Anderson-Heide, who will be making her first Olympic appearance.
Aside from adding new team members, Tabitha and Tara also added new family members. Tara gave birth to her son, Eddie, in September of 2024 and Tabitha gave birth to her daughter, Noelle, two months later. The mothers took time away to be with their infants, and when they returned to the ice, they helped power the rink’s run to the 2026 Winter Games.
Team Peterson will have their work cut out for them, with Team Homan of Canada (the “Homan Empire”), winner of two straight world championships, along with Switzerland and Sweden presenting difficult challenges.

How to find more information about women's curling at the 2026 Winter Olympics
Is the U.S. women’s team the favorite to win gold in Olympic curling?
Team Peterson comes into the Winter Games as underdogs and will have their work cut out for them. Team Homan of Canada (the “Homan Empire”), winner of two straight world championships, along with Switzerland and Sweden, present difficult challenges. It will take a magical run, a la Team Shuster in 2018, for Peterson to capture a medal, but they’ve demonstrated a calm and poise under the brightest of lights that could aid them in their efforts.
