Lindsey Vonn took to social media on Tuesday to share that she has arrived back in the United States, where she will continue receiving treatment for a complex tibia fracture she sustained at the Milan Cortina Olympics.

“My leg is still in pieces…but I’m finally HOME,” Vonn wrote.

Vonn, who has undergone four surgeries as of this writing, is expected to have another surgery back in the United States.

“My injury was a lot more severe than just a broken leg,” she wrote. “I’m still wrapping my head around it, what it means and the road ahead.”

Vonn’s post showed the behind-the-scenes of her transportation back to the United States, which included multiple ambulance rides and a plane ride. It was the latest update of several that the 41-year-old has provided for fans since crashing at the 2026 Winter Olympic downhill event in Cortina on Feb. 8. After rupturing her ACL at a World Cup event in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, just a week before the Olympics, Vonn successfully completed her training runs at Milan Cortina and decided to compete. She stated that her "ACL and past injuries had nothing to do with my crash whatsoever."

Vonn's update about her arrival back in the U.S. was shared just a day after a video compilation of her time spent receiving treatment and recovering in Italy.

“Thankful for friends, family, my team and all the medical staff that are getting me back to myself,” she wrote Monday. “I’m slowly coming back to life, back to basics and the simple things in life that mean the most. Smile. Laugh. Love.”

After her third surgery on Saturday, Vonn reflected on her experience at the Milan Cortina Games in a separate social media post. The video posted was of her final training run before her Olympic race, with Vonn sharing that she has no regrets about her decision to compete.

"I am still looking forward to the moment when I can stand on top of the mountain once more," she wrote. "And I will."

Vonn has stated that she will share additional details about her injury in the coming days.
