The final day of IBU World Cup competition concluded in Ostersund, Sweden with the women's 10km pursuit and the men's 12.5km pursuit events on a foggy, snowy day.
Lisa Theresa Hauser of Austria won gold in the women's 10km pursuit competition with a time of 30:14.2. Hauser shot perfectly from the range on the day to claim the victory.
Finland's Suvi Minkkinen crossed the line 2.5 seconds after Hauser to claim the second spot on the podium. Minkkinen wore the yellow bib in the pursuit for first time in her career, after she won her first World Cup gold in the 7.5km sprint event.
Anna Magnusson of Sweden earned bronze in front of her home crowd to close out the weekend. Magnusson finished the pursuit 31.8 seconds behind the leader.
On the men's side, French biathlete Quentin Fillon Maillet won gold in the men's 12.5km pursuit with a time of 30:14.5. Sebastian Samuelsson of Sweden made a final push to claim silver, after he finished 6.7 seconds behind Maillet. Norway's Johan-Olav Botn secured the final podium spot, after he finished 10.3 seconds behind the French leader. Each biathlete on the podium had two penalties during the race after missing in the shooting bouts.
Maillet's win was the 10th pursuit victory of his career.
Team USA's Campbell Wright shot perfectly from the range for the first time this season and placed 6th overall in the pursuit.
The next stop on the IBU World Cup circuit is Hochfilzen, Austria starting on Dec. 12. The first competition for the biathletes will be the men's 10km sprint and the women's 7.5km sprint events.
