After the completion of Tuesday’s seventh day of curling competition in Cortina, which featured two sessions of play in the men's tournament and one in the women's, here's a look at the standings for both, as well as what's coming up on Wednesday...

Women's Curling

Sweden suffered a first loss in Cortina, but still maintained the top spot in the standings. At 6-1, they've clinched a spot in the semifinals and is the first team officially moving on in the tournament with two round-robin games remaining.

The U.S. and Switzerland picked up wins on Tuesday to move into a two-way tie for 2nd place at 5-2 each. Both teams also have two round-robin games left to play.

Canada and South Korea, both 4-3, are tied for 4th and embroiled in a tight battle for the final semifinal spot. There’s a chance the battle could come down to the very last game, as the two teams will play each other on Thursday, the final session of play.

Denmark (3-4) is currently 6th in the standings, followed by China and Great Britain — tied for 7th — are both 2-4.

With two straight wins, Italy (2-5) has moved to 9th, and Japan (1-6) is alone in 10th. 

There are three sessions of round-robin play remaining. After every team has played each other, the top four teams will move on to the semifinals, which will be played on Friday, Feb. 20, at 8:05 a.m. ET.

Men's Curling

With two sessions of play remaining, we have two teams that have clinched spots in the men's tournament semifinals.

At 7-0, Switzerland is the first team in as they keep their spot atop the standings, where they've been the entire tournament. They're followed closely by Canada (6-1) who has also clinched a spot in the playoffs. 

That leaves four teams competing for the final two spots. Italy and Norway are currently occupying those spots, tied for third at 4-3. Both of those teams have two games remaining.

Tied for fifth are Great Britain and the United States, both 4-4 with just one game remaining. Their final game is against each other.

Out of contention are Germany (3-5) in 7th, China (2-5) in 8th, Sweden (2-6) in 9th, and Czechia (1-6) in 10th.

Wednesday's Games

Wednesday will be the final day of three sessions of curling action, with the semifinals set to begin on Thursday.

The day will feature two sessions of play in the women's curling competition and one in the men's, with a total of 11 matches on the ice.

Session 1 will kick off the day with three women's games beginning at 3:05 a.m. ET:

  • China vs. Denmark
  • Sweden vs. South Korea
  • United States vs. Great Britain

Session 2 will begin at 8:05 a.m. ET with four men's games on the ice:

  • China vs. Czechia
  • Italy vs. Canada
  • Norway vs. Switzerland
  • United States vs. Great Britain

The day will conclude with four more women's games in Session 3 at 1:05 p.m. ET:

  • Canada vs. Italy
  • China vs. Sweden
  • Great Britain vs. Japan
  • Switzerland vs. Denmark
