The Italians never really recovered, scoring just single points in the second and fourth ends. In the sixth, a misthrow by Constantini on the hammer turned into a blanked end, giving the hammer back to Canada in the seventh.
The Italians conceded the final two ends to give Canada the win.
Canada had 13 takeouts, compared to just six for Italy.
