Part of the fencing portion of modern pentathlon will be contested at the Musashino Forest Sport Plaza. The plaza will also host badminton and wheelchair basketball during the 2021 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The plaza, constructed in November 2017, was the first new permanent venue completed for the Games.

Tokyo Stadium is a multi-purpose venue that will be used to host the swimming, fencing, riding, and laser-run portions of modern pentathlon. The stadium will also host soccer and rugby during the Tokyo Games.
