Japanese tennis sensation Naomi Osaka already has made a name for herself in the world of professional tennis. At age 26, she already has a few grand slam titles under her belt, massive sponsorships and has led the charge for the next generation of greats in women's tennis.  But missing from her many illustrious accolades is an Olympic gold medal.

Naomi Osaka is 26 years old. She was born on October 16, 1997.

Naomi Osaka was born in her namesake, Osaka, Japan. When she was three, Osaka and her family moved from Japan to Elmont, New York. In 2006, Osaka and her family relocated to Florida so that her and her sister, Mari, would have better opportunities to train.

Naomi Osaka currently resides in Los Angeles. 

Naomi Osaka's parents are Leonard Francois and Tamaki Osaka. Her father, Leonard, is of Haitian descent, and her mother, Tamaki, is Japanese. The couple met when Francois was visiting Japan as a college student. 

Francois was inspired by Richard Williams, the father of Olympians Serena and Venus Williams, to start training his daughters on the tennis court. Osaka has an older sister, Mari, who also played tennis. According to the Women's Tennis Association's website, Mari reached a career rank of No. 280, and last played a professional tennis match in 2021.

Naomi Osaka's sister, Mari, is a former tennis player. She is currently a fashion designer and has collaborated with Naomi on many projects.

Naomi Osaka represents Japan at the Olympics. In 2019, she gave up her United States citizenship in order to represent Japan at the Tokyo Games. 

Naomi Osaka and her boyfriend, rapper Cordae, welcomed their first child, daughter Shai, in July 2023.
