There are many sports, events and streams to keep track of during the Olympics. "OLI" is here to help.
NBC Universal is bringing back OLI, an AI-powered logic system that helps viewers seamlessly find what they want to watch throughout the Milan Cortina Olympics.
Viewers can turn to OLI to ask questions about programming including real-time schedules of events, teams, athletes and countries. Now powered by Google Cloud’s Gemini LLM, new features have also been added, including live medal count updates by country, athlete profiles with event details, video highlights, calendar invites for events and suggested follow-ups for sports, athletes and Olympic content.
Users navigating websites in the United States, including NBCOlympics.com. NBCSports.com, NBC.com, NBCNews.com and Today.com can ask questions to OLI to find up-to-date information on Milan Cortina Olympics programming. Developed in partnership with Huge, a design and technology company, OLI can synthesize options and recommend personalized viewing based on the time of day and time zone.
Using natural language chat, OLI is able to inform a user when and where they can watch Olympic events across NBCU's broadcast and cable channels, as well as on Peacock.
For example, if a viewers want to know when the hockey competition begins, OLI might say "Hockey is coming up soon! You can catch women's hockey on USA starting Thursday, February 5th, with USA vs. Czechia."
Additionally, OLI will have programming details for NBC Sports’ “Legendary February” – users can ask OLI about Super Bowl Sunday and NBC All-Star Weekend in February 2026.
“Our goal with OLI on NBCUniversal’s digital platforms is to help fans find up-to-the-minute answers to their Olympics questions, and to help them quickly get to the thousands of hours of coverage we have across NBC and Peacock,” said Jenny Storms, Chief Marketing Officer, Entertainment and Sports, NBCUniversal. “With OLI’s new capabilities, we’re transforming it beyond a discovery tool into a true viewing guide. From real-time medal counts and athlete profiles to personalized highlights and calendar reminders, OLI ensures fans can easily connect with the Olympic moments that matter most.”
