The United States, powered by Brittany Bowe, Mia Manganello, and Giorgia Birkeland, fought hard in the women's team pursuit qualifying round, finishing 4th to advance to the semifinals.

The trio, which skated to two national records and two podium finishes on the 2025-26 World Cup circuit, consistently posted the fourth- or fifth-fastest lap splits the whole way through the race. Their speed began to slip in the final corners, but their synchronicity — a skill the United States has perfect in both its men's and women's trios over the last five years — kept them in the race. Their final time of 2 minutes, 58.32 seconds, was 3.29 seconds behind leader Canada.

Bowe and Manganello, along with Heather Bergsma and Carlijn Schoutens, lifted the United States to bronze at the 2018 Games. The United States then did not field a team in 2022.

World record-holder Japan (2nd) and the Netherlands (3rd) filled out the remaining two semifinal spots. The top three teams in Saturday's race, which took the same order on the podium in Beijing, all finished within 0.6 seconds of each other.

The four countries will compete in the semifinals Tuesday, Feb. 17.
