The women's national hockey teams for the U.S. and Canada were back on the ice for the third game of the 2025 Rivalry Series on Wednesday night.

An absolutely dominant offensive outing propelled Team USA to clinch the 2025 Rivalry Series over Canada with a third straight win in the best of four-game series.

The first two U.S. wins of the Rivalry Series in November were headlined by hat tricks in each match-up from Abbey Murphy and Hilary Knight, respectively. However, the third game of the series showcased a total and all-around team effort for the decisive victory. Eight different players scored for the U.S. in their 10-4 victory over Canada. Kelly Pannek and Murphy led Team USA with two goals each.

After losing the first two games of the series to the Americans 4-1 and 6-1 respectively, when the puck dropped it looked like Canada was primed to turn the series around in front of their home crowd. Forward Sarah Fillier put Canada on the board first just 48 seconds into the game, after tapping in the puck off a cross from Ella Shelton.

Tessa Janecke then evened the score for Team USA. She found the back of the net with a power-play goal off an assist from Taylor Heise with 12:11 to go in the first period.

Three minutes later, Murphy scored the go-ahead goal for the U.S. on a breakaway. Jesse Compher followed with a backhand goal to give the U.S. a 3-1 lead late in the period. To cap off the first period, Olympic gold medalist Kendall Coyne Schofield went top shelf to give the U.S. a 4-1 cushion over Canada.

U.S. forward Britta Curl-Salemme scored the first goal with 9:50 left in the second period to increase the team's lead to 5-1 and forced Canada to make a change in goal.

Canada showed some signs of life when Sophie Jaques found the back of the net a couple of minutes later. The goal cut the U.S. lead to three, but not for long. Coyne Schofield fed Pannek the puck from behind the net to go up four with 3:36 left in the second.

However, Canada's Julia Gosling answered a little over two minutes later on a power-play goal to cut the U.S. lead back to three. Then with just 23.2 seconds left in the period it was Jaques again who scored top shelf to end the period on a high note.

The momentum couldn't carry over to the final period for Canada and instead the U.S. went on a scoring spree.

Alex Carpenter scored the seventh goal of the night off a pass from Knight. Pannek scored her second goal of the game to put the U.S. up 8-4, assisted again by Coyne Schofield.

Kirsten Simms got in on the action and scored on a power-play goal for Team USA's ninth goal of the game. Murphy capped off the night with the tenth and final goal of the game for the U.S to win the 2025 Rivalry Series 10-4 over Canada. This is the first win for the Americans since the 2019-20 series.

U.S. goalie Gwyneth Philips had 30 saves on the night to anchor the team's win.

While the U.S. can already claim this year's Rivalry Series victory, these match-ups are also serving as evaluation games in preparation for the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympic Games. The official 23-player Olympic rosters are expected to be named by early January.

The final game of the Rivalry Series between the U.S. and Canada takes place on Dec. 13 back at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta.
