The U.S. took home a grand total of 36 gold medals at the 2024 Paris Paralympics, third most of any nation behind China (94) and Great Britain (49). Team USA struck gold in eight sports, led by para swimming and para track and field, which accounted for 10 gold medals each.

A total of 25 individual American athletes left Paris as Paralympic champions. Of those 25, eight left with multiple golds. Three U.S. teams also fought their way to victory, as the American men’s wheelchair basketball team, women’s sitting volleyball team and mixed equestrian team all claimed gold in their respective events.

Para equestrian athletes Fiona Howard and Rebecca Hart both left Paris with three gold medals around their necks, most of any Team USA athlete. Howard swept the Grade II individual and individual freestyle events, while Hart did the same in the Grade III events. The pair then teamed up – along with Roxanne Trunnell – to win the para equestrian team event.

By winning 36 gold medals across the 11 days of competition, the United States averaged 3.27 gold medals won per day. However, the best day for Team USA came on Tuesday, Sept. 3, the middle day of the Games. The U.S. won six gold medals that day, most of any day of the Paris Paralympics.
