Team USA

Both the United States men's and women's teams will compete in Tokyo after qualifying through FIVB's Intercontinental Qualification Tournament in August 2019.

The U.S. has had each of its teams successfully qualify for every Olympics since the Los Angeles Games in 1984.

At the Rio Games, both the men's and women's teams earned bronze — the men's first medal since winning the 2008 Beijing Games, and the women's first medal since taking silver at the 2012 London Games. The men also won gold in 1988 and 1984. The women have yet to win Olympic gold.
